Treatments take place in comfortable reclining chairs in a community setting.
About Spokane Community Acupuncture
At Spokane Community Acupuncture, we do things a little differently.
We are a community acupuncture clinic, which means our individual acupuncture treatments are performed in a group setting. While you are resting quietly during your treatment, others are resting quietly around you during theirs.
This community-minded business model means that we can offer acupuncture at a more affordable price point than standard acupuncture clinics. Most clinics charge anywhere from $80 to $200 per acupuncture session. For many, this is too costly to receive regular and/or frequent acupuncture treatments. We recognize that regularity and frequency of treatment are key factors in the long-term effectiveness of acupuncture.
We want you to feel at home in this space. Thank you for choosing Spokane Community Acupuncture. We’re so happy you’re here!
About the Acupuncturist
Shauna Douglass-Parkin, L.Ac, EAMP, Dipl.OM, MSTOM opened Spokane Community Acupuncture in 2023. She is the former Owner and Acupuncturist at Lilac City Acupuncture.
Shauna earned her Master’s degree at Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, CA. During her education, she traveled to Shenyang, China, to further her studies in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and to observe treatments in the hospitals there. She will never forget witnessing acupuncture in the hospitals there: patients, patients everywhere! Standing against the walls, a few lucky people sitting in chairs… all with their needles in, waiting for their treatments to take effect. This was far different from the one-on-one model seen in most clinics in the US. And, it was working – they got better!
When Shauna is not in the clinic, she loves to spend time with her husband, Cameron, and their sons, Torin and Sterling. She also enjoys getting outdoors, taking long walks, playing board games, cooking, crocheting, reading, and finding treasures in thrift shops!
